Works in Exhibition
Lion & Lamb Contemporary is pleased to present The Shape of Things, a group exhibition opening July 3, 2026 in Philadelphia’s Fishtown. The exhibition brings together a focused selection of contemporary artists working across media to explore form as both structure and proposition a site where experimentation, repetition, and material decision-making converge.
Curatorial Overview
The Shape of Things unfolds across a single expansive floor in Philadelphia’s Fishtown, where moveable wall panels create an organic path through the work. Rather than fixed rooms, the installation allows the exhibition to breathe works in dialogue across sightlines, the space itself becoming part of the curatorial argument. Each artist is given room to assert presence without competition, the open plan rewarding movement and close looking in equal measure.
The exhibition emphasizes cohesion, clarity, and formal intelligence. Works in the primary space assert presence through material confidence and conceptual focus, while the secondary installation foregrounds experimentation within constraint, treating limitation as a generative tool.
The Shape of Things runs in deliberate conversation with the gallery’s summer program, allowing multiple voices to coexist without dilution. The result is a tightly composed exhibition that rewards close looking and positions individual works within a carefully constructed whole.
The exhibition will be accompanied by editorial-style digital programming and professional documentation. An opening reception will take place on Thursday, July 11th, with additional summer programming to follow.
